I'm shocked! Shocked I say! The most anti-transit thing one can do is to continue the status quo at WMATA, continue the organization structure they have. That is the least beneficial to people who...

Pretty sure LD has enough problems in his own shop to worry about WMATA... and the fact that he says WMATA needs to "hire and fire" better is laughable given that he's admitted he's unable to fire his...

Yep, is that attitude -- that only the last rush hour counts -- that is the heart of the problem here.

A couple of years ago Metro came up with a 25-year plan for what it needed to do ... but now that this has happened we abandon that and move to something else.Does she seriously think that WMATA should...

Anyone else find "ADHD approach" a tad offensive?Well Ms. Jeter said it and she hasn't been one to shy away from inflammatory language in the past so...Also it's great how she conflates the 25 year...

Comment by Low Headways

I think what Jeter was getting at is there are these plans - be they Momentum, or MetroForward, or Metro 2040, or whatever - and it's all well and good to stick to them. But every single time something...

It's pretty interesting that it only takes a day of touring around the place to figure out just how dysfunctional it is. Imagine what you'd see if you worked there for 10 years.

More proof that Bowser is great at talking vaguely and broadly about what should be done, but when it comes to details, we should all just give up. Yes, Metro needs an outsider - at least to WMATA -...

the fact that he says WMATA needs to "hire and fire" better is laughable given that he's admitted he's unable to fire his own biggest staff problems at DDOT.Sounds like he has firsthand experience in...

If Momentum, MetroForward, and Metro 2040 were generally producing the needed results, a few snafus here and there could be overlooked and forgiven as not representative. However, it's clear that those...

I don't follow the inner workings of WMATA like many of the commenters here but one thing that continues to bother me is the bunker like mentality that many of the station mangers exhibit. Trying to...

Dormsjo and Corbett Price, both appointed to the WMATA Board by Mayor Muriel BowserAnd shocker: They say exactly the same as the mayor! That is, whatever the mayor has been saying since being appointed...

WMhATA has not been forthright about a lot of things. It is remarkably secretive for an agency that depends on the goodwill of the electorate in multiple counties, DC, MD, VA, the Feds, and its riders.

Comment by JDC

@ SJE - I concur. Metro is secretive, and also just bad at communicating what it IS doing and IS doing well. @ Low Headways points out Metro's unused Metroforward twitter account, which was a nice...

While PR can be added to the laundry list of things WMATA does poorly, I don't know that's where they should focus their attention. I don't know that WMATA's problem is perception rather than a lack of...

Also, when you focus on PR instead of admitting your real problems and addressing those, you come off as an alcoholic in denial, or even worse:...

"We're only as good as our last rush hour"?! Well, what about the poor folks who need to take the Metro/bus to clean the office after all the consultants/lawyers have gone home on "good" rush hour...

I don't really understand the hate for Dormsjo that I've seen in some comments. The guy has been on the job for a couple of months, and people are already blaming him for all of DDOT's issues,...

Comment by BTA

I'm not going to hate on anyone yet, including the mayor. They all deserve a good number of months to work on fixing stuff before we can start to judge them.
