I don't really understand the hate for Dormsjo that I've seen in some comments. The guy has been on the job for a couple of months, and people are already blaming him for all of DDOT's issues, including a streetcar project that was badly mangled by the Gray admin? Seems strange.
For one, I find his comments to be refreshing. Given WMATA's critical role in the District's transportation picture, doesn't Dormsjo has a right to call out mismanagement and inefficiencies within WMATA? At least some important stakeholders are calling for change. It's just the beginning though. WMATA's organizational culture needs to be transformed. This "rush hour" mentality is so narrow minded and backwards. Until WMATA's focus becomes providing excellent transit for area residents around-the-clock on a consistent basis, this region will continue to have massive transportation headaches.
